Usher gains sole custody of two children

An Atlanta judge on Friday awarded R&B singer Usher primary custody of his two sons with ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond, according to a person with knowledge of the ruling.
Usher had been seeking sole custody of Usher V, 4, and Naviyd, 3, while his ex-wife wanted to maintain joint custody and receive an increase in child support payments.
The long custody battle had been marred with public mud-slinging on both sides as each party alleged the other was an unfit parent. Tragedy also struck in July when Foster Raymond’s 11-year-old son Kile Glover – Usher’s stepson – died after suffering a brain injury during a jet-ski accident.
One source who was not authorized to speak on the record confirmed the judge’s ruling and said “it’s been a long and difficult process for everyone.”
Representatives for the “Yeah!” singer declined to comment on the ruling or the court proceeding.
Usher filed for divorce from Foster in 2009 after less than two years of marriage.

Tony Scott’s suicide note reveals no motive

The suicide note left by film director Tony Scott contained no mentions of why the “Top Gun” maker would take his own life, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday, citing law enforcement sources probing the death that has baffled Hollywood.
The note, along with other letters Scott left behind before jumping from a Los Angeles bridge earlier this week, did not mention health problems and authorities told the LA Times they may never be able to determine a reason Scott took his own life.
Scott, 68, the brother of Oscar-winning director Ridley Scott, had recently completed a film and seemed to be in good health when he parked his car on a suspension bridge over Los Angeles harbor, climbed a fence to get to the edge and leapt off, plunging nearly 200 feet (61 metres) to the water below.
Reports surfaced that he might have had brain cancer, but Los AngelesCounty coroners determined those reports were wrong.
An autopsy was performed and a final cause of death may not come
for weeks, pending toxicology and other tests results.
Until then, the reason behind his suicide continues to be a mystery in the movie and television industry where Scott enjoyed a good reputation, having produced TV shows and made movies such as “Days of Thunder” and “Crimson Tide.”
Scott’s body is expected to be buried at a private family funeral on Saturday.

Jolie, Pitt daughter to make film debut as young princess

She is only four-years-old but Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, daughter of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, will soon follow in the footsteps of her famous parents, appearing in Disney movie "Malificent," the studio said on Wednesday.

The movie is expected to hit theaters in March 2014 with Jolie playing villain Malificent from animated classic "Sleeping Beauty." Vivienne will portray a young version of Princess Aurora who is cursed to sleep until awoken by kiss from a handsome prince.

"Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne will play a minor role as the child version of Princess Aurora opposite her mother in "Maleficent," Disney said in a statement. "The live-action film explores the origins of Disney's most iconic villain, Maleficent, and what led her to curse Princess Aurora."

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is the twin sister to brother Knox Leon. They were born in a hospital in Nice, France, on July 12, 2008.

Tiger earnings beat Bodyguard, Dabangg in 9 days

As expected and predicted Yash Raj Films Ek Tha Tiger has indeed ended up netting in the 150 crore plus range, especially because Eid was celebrated on Monday, resulting in an extra holiday during the weekdays.

As per trade and distribution sources, the Kabir Khan directed Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, ETT, has not only beaten the entire run of Salman Khan's last two blockbusters, Bodyguard and Dabangg, but it has surpassed both by about 9-10 crore, thereby netting 154-155 crore (to be validated). And that in just 9-days flat!

Additionally, the film is once again all set to be the top earner, even in the current weekend.

In the Overseas too ETT is having a dream run and once again it will end up as Salman Khan's biggest grosser.

Meanwhile, the only new release of the week, Boman-Farah starrer, Shirin Farhand Ki Toh Nikal Padi, has put up a decent performance on the opening day, with the high end multiplexes putting up a better show. If the film didn't have to contend with a still hot ETT it could have definitely done much better.
